I did some yardwork this weekend with my Mazdaspeed3 and I parked it wherever the hell I wanted! Granted, it’s on my property, and it made moving bags to the backyard much easier! no neighbors complained. #badass #parklikeaboss

Doug's articles have me craving to import a 94-99 MR2 Turbo once they become 25 yr legal (US only got the MR2 through 95 and only about 500 total in the final 2 years of production here in US, thus getting a premium on the used market here). I would think they could incorporate a "sleepy eye" look with DRL and LED turn signals for daytime use and then incorporate a full on pop up for headlights/brights. 2nd Gen MR2 with a sleepy eye conversion:

You can do Vanity Plates in IL, they cost extra. I have Vanity plates on my Mazdaspeed3 here in IL for the last few years. If I trade the MS3 in, I can transfer my plates to the replacement vehicle. If I sell it outright, the plates stay with me.
