Sounds like maybe a braggot, which is kind of a cross between beer and mead made with both honey and malt. I used to work at a brew pub that had a braggot on draft and my favorite after-shift beer was a mix of that and the IPA. I didn’t like the sweetness of the braggot on its own but cut with the bitterness of the IPA…

That looks fantastic. I make a butternut squash, caramelized onion, and gruyere galette that is amazing and I have been tempted to make a version without the squash because the onions and cheese (and sage) are so amazing on their own.

Yeah, I think in the US the only real point of contention is that revenue from hunting licenses etc. is not reliable, particularly as participation in those activities is on the decline, and that steadier revenue streams are needed to support crucial conservation programs.
