BMW has made quite the comeback in the HW line recently. I also found this brilliant metallic navy 850i in a thrift store dump bin. Surprisingly good condition especially compared to the other pieces. Looking it on the wiki shows this came in several wheel variations, but the gold lace is probably my favorite. It just…
Happy birthday #240 America!!!
It hasn’t sunk in yet, but my alma mater took home the big trophy last weekend. So naturally, I had to print MicrosoftStore’s Trophy
It’s only been a couple weeks and a couple more trips, but here’s that exclusive Indy 500 diecast. This one will probably stay in the package because of the limited run and special 100th Anniversary stuff. There’s actually nothing on the car that designates its significance so that’s a bummer. I also picked up a…
I’ve had a crazy summer, and only starting to be manageable. Today I had fun modeling a new wheel. I then decided to see what it looked like at scale so I put it through the slicer and got a nice 1:4 model that fits nicely in your hand. Wheels are fairly simple to design because they’re just a rotated profile and a…
If you’re here, be sure to pick a program complete with diecast!
I can’t believe I’ve missed nearly a month of LaLD goodness, but it has been a non-stop summer. I did check in enough to see my legacy has lived on, and I am eager to get back to 3D printing. Who’s ready for the biggest weekend in motorsports?!
I didn’t want to ruin the surprise last week, but during the month of April I made a bunch of fun custom coasters for HWEP with vdubyajohn.
Today, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series runs at Talladega Superspeedway. It is known as the largest and fastest track on the schedule and is always home to big crashes and close finishes.
It’s still Thursday somewhere. I’ll post more about this hopefully this weekend or next week, but I’ve a lot of fun working on some custom creations the past month. This was the only picture I got before sending it off...
Excuse my tardiness, this still qualifies for our friends on the west coast. I mentioned I wanted to make a Mercedes Benz 300SEL AMG “Red Pig” to go with my 70's Tuetonic racers. I didn’t have any immediate luck, but I was able to try out this Le Mans prototype of the same make.
The concept of bulk packaging is that you get a discount for purchasing multiples. For Hot Wheels, that means they can charge more because exclusive models. I have usually passed because I can’t stand fantasy casts, but I found some nice lots this weekend.
I totally forgot about the day until just now. It’s been a crazy week, but I had the picture stashed on the web. This H1 was made by rozoom, and I decided to print the full bodied classic. The neat thing is that there are 5 different configurations and all look to be optimized for 3D printing.
A couple of 1970's German racers
The flag’s a big plus :D
Thought I’d stop by the toy store to see what they had. I must have been the first to find these neat little international cards with all the latest sure-to-be-classic releases. Definitely worth the slight mark up. Since I haven’t seen one on here, I featured the BMW- funnily enough nicknamed the Batmobile
This BotW Routemaster has some nice -what I’d call real rider- wheels, but I’ve been cranking out some more practical ones. Gotta stay dry!
Here’s a look at the all-new LaLD Exclusive Hoonicorn (Instagram pranksters do what you will). Happy April Fool’s Day!
Something came in the mail yesterday. Maybe it’s the kid in me, but there’s nothing like getting a large box with your name on it. Thanks to androo for the tip, I think several of us took advantage of this great deal!
A very hoppy Easter! TIL the egg and bunny tradition comes from Eastre (or Eostre, any number of spellings) who was the goddess of spring and fertility. She also loved bunnies...?
