He comes off really well here.Very positive and upbeat.
Nicollette Sheridan on the obstacle course, BOTNS '88,
I disagree that Achtung Baby is better. I think stuff like One Tree Hill and Red Hill Mining Town are as good as U2 gets.
I can definitely see that. But being an old bastard I remember when it came out, and it was pretty mind-blowing at the time. Plus that is when they really became U2 with a capital U2 and sold a bazillion records, became a mega-band etc. If it said greatest achievement I guess that's arguable, but it doesn't say that.…
I know it's dickish to say it like that, just talking back to the headline. But I seriously do think The Joshua Tree is their greatest. And after that I'd put Unforgettable Fire. Not that Achctung Baby isn't great.
U2's defining achievement is The Joshua Tree. To disagree is to be wrong.
Who decides what's relevant? He's working. And funny. That's relevant enough.
He's got the most New York accent in the history of New York accents.
Man, this guy sure gets hyped a lot on here.
" I'm a dangerous man with some money in my pocket. So many pretty girls around me and they waking up the rocket"
And by the sociological one, you mean the totally fucking made up one, as opposed to the actual definition of the actual English word in an actual dictionary.
I don't know, it's seems kind of funny to criticize Metallica for endless thrashing.
Spit Out the Bone is fucking killer.
Whoa that view. I used to live very close to where this guy filmed that. Damn, miss it.
btw, the King of the 30-pack is Stroh's.
Budweiser tastes great when it's ice cold but is pretty gross otherwise.
Richard Rosebrough never gets mentioned in these things, but he was sort of the unsung 'other drummer' in Big Star. I think he plays on four or five songs on this, plus three on Radio City, and then he's also on I Am the Cosmos and Like Flies on Sherbet.
" These songs—and really, the whole album—have a raucous, four-beers-in party vibe that’s a hell of a lot of fun to listen to at a loud volume, preferably behind an even louder din of people yelling and bottles breaking."
Rocks is better than your favorite record. Guaranteed.
