I mean, its no worse than a giant, Mount Rushmore cliff appearing out of nowhere for the Nazis to fall off in Raiders, if you really think about it.
Then again, Indy was the guy who “didn’t believe in supernatural hocus pocus”, supposedly right after he dealt with Mola Ram.
I think Crusade gets maligned because it is the “mainstream favorite” when Raiders is, by all accounts, a better film.

CS suffered a great deal from the 20 year wait and insurmountable hype. But the biggest problem is the dated oversaturated CGI.

If they tried to use more physical props and practical effects (since the CGI was obviously not at the technological level at that time) I think it would have been better, if probably also much more expensive to film.

Actually, I think somebody proved that it was plausible for a raft to act like a parachute like that. But I get the idea.

I think the best part of this episode was Tiffany’s little Casio keyboard theme playback which completed the utter desperate patheticness of Billy’s game show idea.
