The problem with Discovery is that I don’t think SMG (the lead) is that good of an actress, at least in this role.

I’d say the biggest problem is that P. Stew seemingly made the decision to not play Picard anything like the beloved captain from TNG and the movies.

Voyager did that to the Borg too. Plus the acting was awful with a few exceptions.

I thought the actor did a pretty good job with the role. Could have ended up a hated, spoiled brat like Tariq in Power, but even THAT has had success as a spinoff.
