Maps, but no compass? If you are really going off grid, I recommend a copy of Backcountry Navigator. Allows you to download multiple versions of maps to phone in advance, so you can have photo, terrain, road, USFS, etc. Can not beat being able to look at a google map shot of landscape close up before going into…
