Better than bite-mark forensics!

It’s not a documentary though? Right? It’s a scripted drama based on the case?

Torture is too mild for, at worst, an overzealous and privileged mom who took advantage of the situation to help get her daughter a job (and maybe someone who sincerely believed what she wrote, which was maybe a fair account of him as a boss and mentor)?

I think one central reason people find it funny is because it takes the making a not gay person a gay icon thing to a ridiculous extreme, and that many of those people may enjoy it as a critique. But whether one takes it as a satire or not, it’s funny and there’s nothing to complain about here.

My family had two outdoor cats when I was a kid. Brothers. They had skirmishes with other cats in the backyard, and would defend each other.

Did it occur to you that maybe that’s why people making/spreading the meme thought it was funny? That it might be... satire?

I thought it was just a darkly whimsical non-sequitor? Like, it’s funny because the babadook looks kind of fabulous but also because it would be ridiculous to make the babadook a gay icon so let’s make him a gay icon? For a laugh?

Naming Pennywise the mascot of the Make-a-Wish foundation would be hilarious! Gay icon babadook is still great but getting old, and we need fresh ideas like yours. :)

LMFAO at how much conflict “the babadook gets pride month edition release” has generated in these comments. Idiots.

In my experience, youtube’s algorithm is way more aggressive than “Pandora plays the Beatles because the listener gave every Beatles song a thumbs up.” It’s more like, “you listened to two Beatles songs? Have 70 Beatles songs and nothing else.” Youtube has an absolute monopoly on shortform video content and I would

I’m glad that I, as a white guy, had (white) parents who explained some of this to me. I think “driving while black” came up in every other long car ride with my dad, starting like when I was 10. He explained how the state police where under federal review. And then my mom telling me the deed to our house had a

We sure do some monstrous things to get our animal products, but... “full equality for all species?” Dafuq?

The fact that people don’t know is a pretty good sign that they aren’t currently overrated, and that they may even be underrated post “micro-brew revolution.” If you’re referring to Boston Lager and Pilsner Urquell, they are pretty ubiquitous, but the only time either was recommended to me, guy said it was underrated.

Or it’s not violence, but just another kind of very bad thing.

It’s not fake, and it’s not naivety. I’m well aware that incompetent people are given a lot of power; that many bosses abuse their power; and that white men get the benefit of the doubt. But I’m not just going to assume that this particular person belittles or insults people he works with because he admitted he didn’t

I recognize that. Justified. And you’ll have many, many opportunities in life to take a stand against undeniable incompetence and white male privilege, and you should do so.

Maybe he didn’t come up through the politics side of their reporting. Maybe he’s never had to fact-check an article that implicated this fact in a meaningful way. Maybe the organization is large enough that his duties are entirely managerial and involve much less hands-on work than would be required of the

Why assume he’s a piece of shit? Isn’t it possible that he’s an otherwise competent, decent, and even informed person and he just had this comically significant blindspot?

Yeah this response is baffling. This isn’t a “branding shift to make pregnancy less about women and more about men.” It’s showing men that and how they can be involved. Where is the fucking problem with that? There isn’t one, even if you hold whatever bullshit test of pure altruism for rightness this article seems to

If reading is hard, why should I do it?
