I’m just an emu, but I’ll be darned if this isn’t the best, most clearly-distilled summary of why Peeple is a terrible idea.

The “Atlantic Slave Trade” brought SLAVES to America. Aka property. They were not “working.” They were ENSLAVED. To say anything else is a lie.

“Enslaved people.”

Umm... slaves. Yep. Slaves would work.

Slaves, perhaps?

The problem with Peeple: this would all be fine if everyone were good and honest, but if everyone were good and honest, this app would have no purpose.

Peeple: Because life after high school be more like high school.

If I weren’t at work, I’d insert a pic of the MeowMeowBeenz cult and mention we already know how this will work out.

God, it must really be awful for those creators to have a bunch of people on the internet making assumptions about their intentions and criticizing them publicly. Good thing it’s only on twitter though, imagine if there was a whole app, just for that!
