Seriously, the wtf-ness was so high that I was assuming a mental illness or something, since justifying something like that is near impossible - until you have religion, in which all things are possible (and explainable, so you can convince yourself doing stuff like this is righteous)

I hate to say this, but I think he’s mostly pissed about the lost royalties.

I watched the show and really liked it (and I’m not a mom and have no intentions of being one) - it does a pretty good job of parodying/skewering those kinds of attitudes while also portraying how easy it can be to fall into those habits as a new mom w/teh moneeeyyyyssss.

I think the quote was supposed to reflect the assumed attitude of the employer, suggesting she doesn’t care about personal details, but sees all people of color and all employees as the same. Also, the Philippines have produced a few Asian women named Inez.
