As a white South African I know that much of the criticism any ANC politician receives is motivated by racism- “he speaks badly” etc. That said, I think the Zuma penis pictures are motivated by the fact that he is probably a rapist, and definitely homophobic and misogynist.

Emmet Till’s mother did not ask for her son’s dead body to be used as a rhetorical tool on the internet against black people who are 1) already aware of what happened to her son and 2) dealing with their own daily racial traumas from living in a white supremacy.
