You can get away with not being able to read the road perfectly when it’s dry and you don’t push the limits of the bike. Over the years I have gotten the impression that many riders never develop that particular skill regardless of how long they have been riding.
I wonder how many people don’t know that Chrysler Defense existed until 1982, they designed and build the M1 Abrams tank. Chrysler Defense was sold to General Dynamics and still exists in the form of General Dynamics Land Systems.
Slower?
Raising the engines helps prevent debris from being ingested. Conversely, slinging them under the wing and forward (as in larger passenger jets) lets the engines pull the plane, putting the nacelle spar in tension. The materials they are made of are stronger in tension than compression, allowing that spar to be…

Getting out of danger quickly does not make a good rider. Avoiding needing to get out of danger quickly, does.
Traction Control. They will light up the tires at highway speed if you turn it off. Uhh.. or so I heard anyway.
Response time matters, but it is not the only thing that matters. I would be willing to bet that Harley can give departments a better price than BMW.* Cargo capacity is also a big thing for law enforcement. There are more storage options for Harley bikes from the factory and aftermarket.

It would be a massive undertaking and you would need a lot of support from the manufacturer, but it would be a really cool series.
Around 1130cc and 980cc respectively. Not huge, but not particularly small either, especially considering that these are Indian’s entry level bikes.
I took Tavarish’s advice.

Not exactly failed prototypes, but here you go:
“The McLaren F1 has an aluminium flywheel that has only the dimensions and mass absolutely needed to allow the torque from the engine to be transmitted.”
Because they got a huge discount when they bought the land for being close to the track. If they can force the track out of business the value of their property would skyrocket. People do the same thing near highways.
