This. When it starts to feel like it's the brink of summer, I constantly crank the Beach Boys for approximately 4 weeks before putting them away til next year. No particular album or tracks, just scrolling through my favourites, which there are many, and remembering discovering them in my late youth. Summer

I remember reading an interview with David Cronenberg when he reacted against people thinking this movie was pap. He pointed out just how brutal the film is to George and really driving him to despair, and how well-earned that ending is. I wouldn’t have expected him as something of a champion for the film, but there

(The book isn’t coming until 2026).

A movie I never saw until I was in college when one of the many cinema guilds ran it one summer. I’ve unapologetically watched it probably 40 times since. Not only do I never tire of it but I continually find new details to savor. It really is a rich, beautifully crafted movie and Capra’s most finely realized film.

I’ll see it no matter what the reviews but he’s waiting for Cannes because he wants an audience to see it, not a bunch of finance majors twelve years out of school.

* its existence. And no comma after “which.” You’re welcome.

There is no way this film can recoup a $100 million advertising budget. Just no way. People will absolutely go see it, but not enough to make it profitable.

Dying to see it, but it’s almost guaranteed to lose millions of dollars.

I’m definitely here for movies that transcend the good-bad dichotomy. Blonde was a recent example of a film like that; calling it “good” seems offensive to the very notion of “good” because it operates totally outside the bounds of good and bad, and I’m very glad it exists at all.

Man you didn’t have to do Heart of Darkness like that. If you haven’t read it since high school, you should give it another go because it’s brilliant and beautifully written. On an unrelated note, the same goes for The Scarlett Letter.

“Coppola’s new film is crackling with ideas that fuse the past with the future, with an epic and highly visual fable that plays perfectly on an IMAX screen,”

New FFC Film Not Shitty Enough For Release

Sad that this film has such a hard time justifying it’s existence after a year in which, The Flash, Indiana Jones, The Marvels, etc. bombed so spectacularly, and Oppenheimer was a gigantic hit.

It’ll premiere at Cannes, but since whatever “Puck News” is dismissed it, I guess I have to skip it now.

They literally list two positive reactions, one of which is from Coppola’s personal friend, and then two negative reactions. So... nothing at all like you're claiming.  Maybe try reading it again. Slowly.

Apcalypse Now was a very long time ago. Look at his more recent output and get back to me.

When have the absolute loseriest bean counters NOT been in charge of the film industry in America?

Out of the same curiosity one watches a car crash I looked at this. The writing and “jokes” were so lazy and unfunny. If there was ever a thing that was way past it’s shelf life, it is this show. Go play golf, Larry!

But the thing is, this episode revolved so much around the Seinfeld finale that it felt a bit expected and devoid of much surprise.”
