RIP Barcia

Some riders did remove their goggles, which, regardless of the lime issue, always seems like a bad idea. One racer, A. J. Catanzaro, who did not remove his goggles during the races, posted a few hours ago on Instagram that he had some burning in his eyes that got worse as the week wore on, and eventually went to an

I did watch Fight Club, so I know the scene was with lye, not lime. Lye is sodium hydroxide. Lime is well... there is aglime, slacked lime, quicklime.. it could be different things, but lets just call it calcium carbonate before it got wet and calcium hydroxide after it got wet.

Luckiest person in that video was the van driver.

He was driving an old truck and was switching to 4wd. You can even hear it (i’m just making shit up)

It doesn’t. It might help replace some of the most damaged parts, but honestly the way Feld operates I’m shocked they even gave anything.

Top priority as long as they don’t have to pay out anything.

Seems to make the most sense. Makes more sense than “it didn’t mix with the water properly”

I mean, did nobody watch Fight Club? Lime is NASTY shit and wrecks your skin really fast

That doesn’t seem to be enough to cover even a semi competitive bike.

Neither organizations said whether any additional steps, aside from reviewing the drying process, would be taken once they find out who all was affected...

Yep in the real world you could claim worker’s compensation for that. At least in Canada. Worked on a drilling rig once removing concrete slurry from a tank. got similar rash but smaller and got pulled out immediately by my supervisor for safety issues.
