I think the real sad story here is the lack of colour in the VW lineup.

You could say the same thing for pretentious douchebags that put $300k price tags on Hemi Cuda’s and such. Its all relative to what people want. I wouldn’t pay $30k for a Cuda but would pay $300k for the right BMW if I had the money. Let people spend money on what they want, instead of coming off as a pretentious…

This makes me so happy to live in Canada. The only argument we had on our thanksgiving was if we were going to go ice skating or curling as a family activity, eh.

Why though? This car is completely redundant with the A4 being cheaper and 4 door.

This is my second VW and I’ve had nothing but great experiences with them. Rock solid and reliable.

At the time, the MK7 R wasn’t available in Canada and there was a year long wait. I needed a car so the GTI was the winner rather than waiting another year for the R. Would have chosen the R over the GTI hands down if they were both readily available at the time.

Why should I conform myself for you? My world is in km’s and yours is in miles. If you want to know badly enough what that converts to, google it. I’m not doing it for you.

My commute is usually 100km each way X 6 days a week most weeks. Plus I go on lots of road trips with the girlfriend and dogs...and for 6 months I was commuting 300km each way to work while we waiting for our new house closing date to come.

I agree that the STI is a more fun car compared to the GTI, but the fuel milage was also a negative selling point for me with the STI.

At the time, it was when the MK7 had just came out and there was still a year wait for the new R’s to arrive. I needed a car and couldn’t wait the year, so I opted for the GTI instead of waiting.

Have you ever actually sat in a modern VW interior? It was the selling point for me over buying a 2015 STI when I got my 2015 GTI. I travel a lot in my car (123k km on my current 2015 GTI that I’ve owned from new) so the interior needs to be good.

Yeah, heaven forbid they took off 30min of the 4+hours of pre / post race NASCAR shows for a small recap of the WRC rounds...but I guess interviews with pouty face Danica complaining about dumb shit is more important than having diverse programming.
