That’s as good as a reason that I’ve heard why Dwayne Johnson has so few love interests in his movies. Most the characters he plays are pretty chaste. There was even a joke in the Hobbes and Shaw movie that his daughter might have been an immaculate birth.

In my mind, Gangs of New York came out way later than the end of Buffy. However, Gangs of New York came out in 2002(!) and Buffy ended in 2003. Now, I’m feeling extra old.

That seems likely. Based on how long it’s taken the author to write the previous books, the last book won’t be out until 2026 at the earliest and the producers couldn’t keep the cast under contract for that long.

Yes, the author released the ninth book in 2021. She has said that she has ten books planned so the show will probably end before the final book is out. It will interesting to see how they adapt it. I wonder if season seven will contain things from the eighth book and season eight will adapt book nine. It’s possible…
