Actually it is bad. Consider that every single thing that happens in the movie revolves around the male lead. He isn’t just the POV character, it all happens either to him or one of his family members.

His blandness isn’t the problem. The problem is the movie is about him. The MUTO only exist in the movie to cause him problems, Godzilla only exists to save him... twice.

Only the silly kids ones from the 70s. Which is why the latest one is nothing but fanfic nonsense. It’s trying to take a formula from kids movies, then treat it deadly serious. Even thou it’s absolute trash.

I hope they actually make it about Godzilla. I don’t know why other people fail to notice that the latest abomination was centered around the male lead. Godzilla was only in the movie to be a deus ex machina for him twice. Even the fight, what there was of it, was just there to kill time so the male lead could destroy…
