I would say keep the Tesla and rent an appropriate vehicle for the few times a year you need something more specialized. Done.

I recall reading somewhere that the thing was originally designed for the Austrian army. Which would explain the ride. And the GPS constantly trying to get you to drive to Poland.

Bought a 280E once that just needed a charge. You would not believe how much Mercedes charges for those hoses.

We'll stick with you. But maybe a hint - Italian again? French?

We in US America made it ... and I am pleased we made something useful. If this is GM's apology for killing off their earlier electric car, I accept.

I like the stuff - put scotch or rum in it, and it's a nice treat once a year.

Used Audi R8 (V8) 6M probably in budget, will do winter (to an extent) and fits in the garage as far as I can tell. And it's a fascinating car, at least to me. Huge departure for Audi.

Too soon?

In memory of Tom Magliozzi I'll say it again: pay a mechanic for an hour of his time and have him go through the car as though his 16-year-old will be driving it.

That's what I was thinking - I don't think there's ever been a true biopic, at least not in the last 15 years. Unless I'm wrong again.

OK - now pitch it into a corner. Driven a car much like that. Buddy in high school had one. You proceed through corners very slowly. F=MA. And there's lots of M.

That's where I was going ... does anyone want one anymore? Remember that Katie Couric had one ....

That would have been great if they'd bought it for a decent price, and we got the new owner to post on it. Where will it end up?

Always love seeing one of these with original steelies and wheelcovers. My childhood crush ...

It is certainly not the Lagonda 4-door. Horrid to look at, and an electrical system made of moonbeams and wishes.

Unmolested ... definitely NP. But keep it low miles and stock.

One reason to buy the Malibu - grandmas. If I got the Jag for mom (81 years old) she'd give it to my nephew. The Malibu she could drive. She's got a '98 Malibu now that I want her to trade for a new Civic or Corolla (side-curtain airbags) but she's stubborn.

Those wheels really make the car - very nice.

A gentle correction from a New Yorker - FDR Drive is East River Drive (other side of the island) and West Side Highway is precisely that.

For some reason, the British Leyland challenge is my favorite - if it's on, I will watch it.
