I was such an idiot - fresh out of law school, could have spent more than the 22 grand I paid for a new '97 SHO - should have done the Supra. Probably near the same money and a manual trans. Also shopped an SVX, but they were fixed on 36K when they were worth 25K new. Depreciation mirrored a Jag, or worse.

I thought of a stock Supra - not a supercar, but you could make one that didn't look silly, but stock. Are there any stock Supras left under 50 grand?

Senna took the mule for a ride and insisted that Honda stiffen it all around - that's the reason we have the car we have.

Had a new Insight from Zipcar a couple years back. and I found the stop/start intrusive - they need to make it a lot smoother.

Just tried to add it w/ TIVO - no dice. Anyone figure out how to get this in US America?

Sunroof. Or carbon ceramic brakes if on offer.

Sure, but my great great uncle had a Cord that got him laid all the time ... can a 260D do THAT?

As Clarksonius has predicted - what's in today's S Class will be in your car in 10 years. Although now it's looking that it's happening quite a bit faster.

This makes a lot of sense ...

If someone hasn't said it already, the Car Guys' advice probably applies - take it to a mechanic you hire and have him go through the car (if they'll permit it). It wouldn't hurt to also take it to a frame shop (if such a thing still exists) and have them check it. Good luck.

This was parked in front of my building this afternoon - anyone?

The thing is, people have to buy the manual trans version and other similar offerings. I would support it (or buy an SRT, also in danger of going away) but I live in Manhattan and can't afford payments AND parking (and have little need for a car). Let's hope the enthusiasts step up.

Anytime these car reunions happen it guts me ....

OK - count with me ... 1, 2, 3, 4 ... oh, Elon Musk just made the amount of the settlement from his holdings. Sometimes it makes sense to pay an idiot to go away ... the lawyer part of my brain knows this.

Why does everyone shit on the two Dalton movies? For me, the first one was excellent and the second very good - he was as good at being Bond as Sean Connery. Pierce Brosnan? Nearly unwatchable. Roger Moore? Too twee. Daniel Craig. Emotionless, but better than most of the others.

Guessing that max I could spend (that my LTG would let me spend) would be about 30-45k. Something like this could probably be had near the mark: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-GT-…

I do this exercise every day in my head - yes I live in Manhattan, but what if circumstances meant that I had to buy a car (like a reverse commute out to White Plains, which almost happened a few years ago)? A used GT-R? The 4C? Something like the car shown here? An XK-R? A brand new GTI? If only .... Still, there's

These ratings agencies are the same ones who rated Countrywide bonds AAA and Aa+ and nearly crashed the world. Fuck. Them.

Cars like this, old Ferrari Californias and GTOs, are always repaired, regardless of cost. At least that' my understanding.

Should Porsche warn novice drivers who buy tail-happy GT3/GT2? Probably. Like that knucklehead in the movie Jackass. Should Porsche be held responsible for a seasoned driver behaving like an idiot on a public road? No. The driver clearly knew the car's limits, and exceeded them.
