Seconded! I actually had someone question me why I was concerned with what was being said . . . . um . . . because this is someone teaching kids and making assumptions about them, their families, and their economic background because of his/her own preconceived notions? Anyway, just wanted to say that I’m with you on

Thank you for this comment.

I’m not arguing that names don’t identify our backgrounds, I’m saying that we shouldn’t judge people based upon their backgrounds. That’s great that you can see what ethnicity your kids are (?) but I just hope that’s as far as it goes.

I’m totally shocked that you’re getting some outrage over your comment. Names might say something about the parents or culture kids came from and that’s EXACTLY why we shouldn’t judge based on any of those assumptions. Names can also sound hispanic, African, British, and yeah maybe even rich and poor. I’m with you on

It concerns me that you’re a teacher and you’re judging your roster by the child’s names. Everyone has their own opinion about names, but no one decides what their kid is going to be like. Cricket the Talking Doll! No one else had it and I’m not even sure if it was popular, but I needed it. I swear she was weighed more than me and my mom even put her in a dress of mine after her clothes were ruined in a play-doh incident.

Oh yes, fake for sure. Season 2 Gossip Girl was basically a love song to them.

You know what else would be an active violations of doctrine?

Yeah, but that’s bullshit. Mormon missionaries regularly convert children under the age of 18 who have parents who want nothing to do with the church. Fun fact, my brother baptized the child of a convicted murderer. So no, they’re not protecting the children, they’re doling out a punishment.

When I was 8, I “chose” to be baptized a member of the LDS church. I chose, despite strong evidence that I had no idea what I was doing, because the church teaches that through baptism, families are forever. Baptism is Step 1 of making sure you get to see your mom, dad, sisters, brothers, etc. in heaven someday. It
