@Alex Paul: I've had the same experience. I would love to hear some opinions on this...

@AmphetamineCrown: Often times you can do this with the ISP provided email accounts (AT&T will give you 25 some email accounts with your service), if you don't want to pay for and manage your own domain.

@Teknophilia: I will agree with AmphetamineCrown's reply below (and they have a star, so their advice should outrank mine) but I use a different method so I don't have to do the sys admin stuff.

@laserfox: As an owner of the past two Windows Mobile OS phones, I have to inform you that your think is not correct. I got ZERO upgrade support and actually forced obsolescence in the first example.

@AmphetamineCrown: Back then, disk space WASN'T so cheap, so a compromise was made.

When I committed to digitizing my music collection, I spent about a week listening to a broad sample of my collection in different bit-rates doing what I normally do when listening to music (exercise, yard work, driving, etc). I would play a song in lossless format, then a lossy one right after. My final conclusion,

@djsmiley2k: You're right, sorry about that...

Agree with this article 100%. I really like the fact that an HP printer is in the photograph heading the article.

@budip: BEST GAME EVER! Still have it on a 5.25 floppy around here someplace...

@robohitler: This was the promise of PrestoPC and Slashtop, both lightweight Linux distros with "instant on" capability.

@lilkeith7: I hate to date myself, but when I entered the workforce back in the early 90's, we all worked on AS/400 machines at our desks.

@vinylrake: I may be alone on this one, but I miss my WYSE terminals. Fast, efficient and reliable. Also, easier to manage a fleet of employees with use permissions.

@dlinkwit27: I earned a living through electronics sales in college. If I could promote your comment, I would, as it is 100% accurate. Kudos!

My wife and I have "off-the-grid" locations where we don't have access to or just don't indulge any online queries.

@timgray: Mark Cuban has credit cards. Most wealthy people do. He's a billionaire based on personal wealth (aka Balance Sheet) not on the cash in his bank account.

@kettlewhistle: I use this coffee maker daily. The #2 coffee filters are available at ANY supermarket, and I've seen them at Target stores also.

This all seems like really obvious stuff, but I'm SO surprised how many "tech" people don't have these.

I've been looking for a reason to try Chrome, but have lagged because I have FF set up just the way I want it. However, with release 3.6.10 I'm having serious stability issues with FF (anyone else having FF 3.6.10 repeatedly freeze up on them???).

@Brad: True, the majority of companies out there use MS Office for their productivity suite. HOWEVER, there is much to LEARNING alternatives when the opportunity is available to you.
