Instead of paying teams a guaranteed TV money, if the league started paying them by number of wins, quickly everyone would care because the owners, and more importantly general managers would care

Why would a guy even want to do this? Adding to the fact that it is definitely rape, you can be left with STDs, and more importantly a baby with child support responsibilities.

ESPN is losing customers and power in the industry for 2 main reasons; diversity is just collateral damage. 1) ESPN is being abused by Youtube, and Social media...you just don’t have to watch ESPN for clips 2) Just like MTV, ESPN turned into “fake live shows” to boost demand, and just like MTV it worked for a while

To me it seems that democrats are doing a good job recruiting for the republicans. People are way too sensitive about race within the democratic party...are republicans also sensitive about be a patriot, or other conservative stuff? sure, but it seems to me that democrats are generally more up and arms about

I also went to Duke during that time (grad school), and yes Kyrie has always be nice to talk to to random people on campus. Same with Nolan Smith.

That’s an interesting piece. I am wondering though can you explain what did you mean by this:

Thanks for bringing this up. I actually think the solution is to pay the athletes straight to their value to the school. But a free market will not work because of NCAA and Title IX.

I am very much on board with what you pointed. That basically answers the metrics part, the next step would be to determine whether POC should actually be represented equally to their population proportion; that’s a bit harder I think. In sports it’s very easy to see that POC are more vested (or even physically more

That’s actually very fair...I didn’t think of quality of role, but how would you do that though? That seems very subjective. What do you think? Maybe that gets to talent as well, the more talented you are the more likely you will be able to command your own roles

Isn’t it the only way to know exactly whether POC are underrepresented? If they are we can start asking the whys- it could be racism, it could be talent gap, it could be interest gap, etc. I am not advocating for equal time as interest and talent may not equal among all groups

Cory Booker is a politician so he is doing his thing, but I think painting Newark as some nice city is disservice

Is there a lack of women (white women included) in the film industry? In fact I’d like to see by how much POC are misrepresented in the film industry as well. While I think we might get fewer lead roles, I don’t know POC total minute spent on tv is compared to 13% (black population in the US)

Give me a break, Ray Hudson is 10x better than most color commentators...it is actually fun to listen to him. It is a shame he is not with NBCSN or another main stream media

Oh...you have not been paying attention. In my personal experience (anecdotal for sure, but still about 5 people) a lot of black dudes with white girlfriends are more likely to complain about racism at all corners.

Black people need this film—it’s powerful and beautifully nuanced, and in the end, we survive. But until white people hold themselves accountable for their “nice” racism and the impact it has on those they claim to help, they will continue to believe that black people owe them a statement heard twice in Get Out:

I’d wager that teams are actually willing to pay more during the Summer because they have time to figure out things. Mid-season you don’t have enough time to gel the newcomers and it might get bad before it gets better.

Someone alluded the fact that it is more thoughtful, and another mentioned the fact that the larger sites do not necessarily share The Root stories.

I understand where you, and a lot of people, are coming from regarding this. However, the goal is not to change the Alt-right’s views but changing the folks who might vote/support similar views simply because they do not understand the objective truth. If Milo keep making his statements unopposed, well the person who

I saw the show last night. Is this the Milo guy people are protesting wherever he goes? This guy is an absolute joke and a clown. All his talking points are easily debatable...I don’t understand why people do not bitch slap him figuratively in debates. His shtick is to bring up random topics he knows you are not

Howard University has 10K students, while Harvard has 20K. While $700M is not a small number, it cannot substantially subsidize financial aid. A quick math at 4% return tells me Howard can provide max $2,000 per student for financial aid (probably less given donations are often tied to other stuff)
