Horses that successfully compete anywhere from A shows to the Olympics are there because they want to be. Please try to get an unwilling horse over a 5' fence yourself and then get back to me on the results. (spoiler alert: it doesn’t happen.)

This is a dumb take. That’s like saying anything expensive and entertaining is nothing more than a status symbol, as though someone can’t enjoy horseback riding because it is enjoyable.
