I get and agree with what you’re saying, but I can also see where BP is coming from in that there is now a conversation taking place about gfd which looks like it’s here to stay (yaaaay!!!).

Looking forward to this. She and the Nerds have been missed.  Thank you.

The quote from Styles is in the next to last paragraph where he says it’s just something he likes to do.

To the concern troll grays,

Condemn the NFL. Seize ownership and give it to the fans of the cities they reside in (see Green Bay Packers).

But it’s just so hard to figure out! That’s why poor old Keith Richards needs “the sisters” (!) to explain it to him. Because who could ever find “Brown Sugar” objectionable? It really is a mystery...

Yes, we all know it is about the horrors of slavery, and of a slave trader raping an enslaved child. But it has always sounded so celebratory (being from the point of view of the slaver and rapist) and contributes to the fetishization and sexualization of young brown bodies.

How is that for an explanation, Mick?

I wonder if you know that’s not what they said, or you’re just being a disingenuous fuckhead.

Get fucked.

They weren’t saying all that when Michael Richards showed his ass onstage and got self-cancelled.

Ah, perhaps to point out that Chapelle’s words are, in fact, a serious problem for those of us who are trans? Seeing as how we already face death threats and abuse on a regular basis? And, you know, giving US some goddamn support, for once, instead of ignoring it?  Instead of being casually bigoted the way you just

Watch him later try to clean it up by saying he loves his lesbian niece (Marlon’s daughter). I grew up on his family’s work and I loved his stand-up but I can’t revisit In Living Color because of the colorist injury, amongst other things. Their portrayals of darkskinned women who grew up poor like they did is

‘You’re no longer free in this country. You’re not free to say what you want, you say what we want you to say. Otherwise we will cancel you.’ That’s the discussion we should have.

The casino toy cops were as wrong as a snowball in hell but forget waiting around for two hours at a non-essential place where entry was denied. That said, I wish her a better payout than any gaming table or slot machine in there could produce.

County pen, bitch, county county pen, bitch

He later added, “I can’t speak about the content of the show but what I say is, there is a bigger conversation we need to have. Someone needs to look us in the eye and say, ‘You’re no longer free in this country. You’re not free to say what you want, you say what we want you to say. Otherwise we will cancel you.’

I feel like this gets conflated a lot. You ARE free to say what you want in this country. There may, however, be CONSEQUENCES to saying whatever you want. Some of those consequences may be that a bunch of people who feel hurt or aggrieved or who feel a power imbalance is at work may speak up, singly or collectively,

Then maybe they need to up their electronic verification system; if I go to a casino, best believe my driver’s license is the only ID I have on hand. I am not in the military, so I don’t have that second form of ID...but she did.

Ok, so a couple things need clarification here.

“That casino security could not process that a 23-year-old Black woman could hold such a high rank”
