I have never been able to recall a Good Eats food lesson while I am cooking, even if I know I've watched the applicable episode.

I've never understood the appeal of reading/watching reviews of an episode. I mean, I just watched it, I know what happened and I know if I liked it. What do the reviews and reactions add to it?
