I’m wondering if it would be possible to rip out the electronics and hydraulics and turn this into a manual top...  If that could be done cheaply, then this becomes a whole lot more enticing...

It was sarcasm... Vinfast made waves recently with a $249 a month lease that seemed very enticing (and there are a fair number of them out and about in the SF Bay Area) but now that a strong automaker like Hyundai has an excellent car like the ioniq 6 at the same cheap lease, there’s no reason to even consider vinfast

I was talking to building management and they were telling me that in the before times, our building regularly held 3000+ per day.  today- 150 or so.  I also had a chat with a restaurant owner last week and he was telling me that his lunch rush used to be 150+ on a weekday.  now he’s happy if he clears 20.  he might

I work in downtown Oakland. the biggest problem for Oakland is the workers never returned to the high rises. so the downtown businesses who support workers can’t afford to stay open. The reason Oakland started to get nicer was because the highly paid tech and finance workers downtown were buying all the homes and home

we’re required to have 15k/30k liability only I believe.  might be 25k/50k now.  my corolla has that- costs about $20 a month to insure.

I kinda feel like journalists need to stop perpetuating the myth that all Hyundai/Kia/Genesis cars have poor reliability. That G90 doesn’t have the 4 banger ThetaII with issues from years ago. The v6 turbos seem to be about on par with every other luxury car maker. And before anyone says anything, that G90 has push

My guess is that the car note is getting subsidized...  I have friends that just get that subsidy check instead of driving a company car.  They can choose to drive whatever they want.  Insurance is probably subsidized too if not covered under a company plan.  gas is expensed.

that’s exactly what I was thinking- what does this weigh?  7000 lbs?

Hmm, ioniq 6 or vinfast vf8 for the same money...  Vinfast is going to be in trouble...

They should just open source all the code so people might try and fix some of the issues and throw in the towel.

it depends on what average is in your area I suppose. I think I have a pretty average commute in the SF Bay Area and it’s more like 70 miles round trip from my suburban home in the east bay to silicon valley or san francisco. I know quite a few folks, trying to avoid high home prices or other factors, who commute 2

what they really freak out about is when that 150 mile range turns into 100 miles in the cold.  Or 80 miles if you want the battery to last and only charge to 80%.  Then things can get dicey- can get to work and back but no other errands without charging, etc.

He also points out that there’s no way to know what state of charge the rooftop solar panels are in”

was there a requirement that it be Japanese? The Explorer and Acadia seem to be decent options also that fit the requirements I saw.

The sad part is that the new Altimas are pretty decent to drive.  I had a rental Altima Platinum a couple months ago and I was thinking this was actually pretty decent for a daily driver.  But then again, I got to give it back after a week so...

I kinda feel like part of that is because they’re the kind of people that would rather buy a car from the least reliable American brand than an import, given the other American brands don’t really make cars anymore.

I think my first post agrees with you. I’m just saying, what would it take to make a consumer think it’s worth paying the subscription a la Feature as a Service model. A hardware warranty in place for as long as you keep the subscription in effect (and ends once you end the subscription, even if you re-up the

Dipstick over drives his headlights and found out. News at 11.

Im thinking that the A3 better be damn inexpensive if it has no features out of the box. And if some enterprising engineer unlocks hardware in their own car, Audi shouldn’t say anything- it’s Audi’s fault for not securing it properly. It might be worth the subscription model if the hardware underlying the software is
