those “fake” blanks for the Golf and Jetta IV were for fog lamps in Europe I believe.  Maybe having them in that position in the US was in violation of FMVSS 108...

a CX-5 is a really good SUV though.

I have so many questions- lets start with: Is there any navigation service or device anywhere that does what you seem to want- assess all possible routes, and decide if any of them are actually passable based on... I don’t know. And you want it to be accurate enough that it doesn’t send drivers down unpassable routes-

I can’t believe this wasn’t on the list.  https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/ctd/d/atlanta-2015-porsche-macan-sport/7419787017.html

untraditional because it’s not a BMW, Lexus, Audi, or Mercedes.  Genesis isn’t among the first names that come to mind when it comes to luxury but maybe it should be.

hitting that other semi would probably be a death sentence for him.  Can you blame him for self preservation?

I think she meant luxury vehicles in the traditional sense- the $140k S63s of the world, compared to this GV70 which is more or less untraditional luxury.

I love this car, love all the Genesis designs (and even Kias and Hyundais). But those alligator skin wheels have to go.

I don’t know if I’d say people are happy they’re dead. More like, “yeah, that’s pretty much what I expected would happen”.  Maybe they’re happy or smug that they were correct in their prediction.

but if you had both, there’s no downside. now that i think about it, AWD could contribute to both cornering and slowing down- front wheels could be pulling with the steering and 4 driven wheels could contribute to engine braking- bigger/more contact patch. If the conditions were bad enough, I’d want both snows and 4

Why not AWD and snows?  wouldn’t that increase the margin of safety?  Too bad the OP doesn’t live in CA - lot’s of AWD choices here under $5k.  Subarus, Audis, trucks, pilots, MDXs etc.

no M-B? how about BMW then. 40k miles, 443hp.

Alfa Romeo says hold my beer...

keep in mind though that these are 4 seaters.  i don’t think you could get 5 seats until the second generation.  if that’s not a problem, they’re pretty great.

To be fair, I really like most things about my old truck. I added HID headlights with projectors, 20 inch factory rims, a Borla catback, Apple Car Play with a 10 inch screen and a lot more. Plus it has sentimental value. But it also has 215,000 miles and it gets 12 mpg. so you see my dilemma- we love our old Expy but

mid 90s corolla.  they’re like cockroaches.  i have one.

Im in this boat right now. my 18 year old expedition needs new cats. probably about $3k since I’m in CA. I really want a new Expy or Navi or something like that but not until my youngest is in college, about 5 years from now, so it doesn’t get thrashed. Question is- soldier on with my 03 Expy and dump $3k into a truck

If it’s like my 997, checking the oil level is done from the instrument panel.

what the hell is up with the headline?

if by interesting you mean faster and quicker but less comfy and reliable, you’re probably right.
