The economics make sense for game pass because the sales those 3rd parties project they are forgoing on Xbox are within a certain range of the sure payday from Ms.

Well first off, ya fell right into their trap by writing this article. SNL is pretty desperate for relevance, so since none of their skits can get a “can you believe this did this last week” article, they got you to write a “can you believe they are doing this” about who they are going to have host.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.   Frankly, by the time a lot of these studios get acquired, the talent that made your favorite games there is already gone or about to head out the door without having much impact on their next game.
