I didn't really like this movie, and the violent bits weren't the problem. It was more the horrible bleakness of it all. It includes scenes of the protagonist and his brothers being molested by a pedophile, and later the protagonist being raped by his own brother. And there's the dog-killing someone else has already…

My theory is that while 'Snowtown' says 'nasty murders' to Australians, it doesn't really mean anything to audiences elsewhere.
