WHY CANT THE MAN PLAYING THE BLOODSPORT KEEP HIS EMOTIONS IN CHECK

Totally impartial observer of this game... Beckham needs to obviously find a way to cool it for the good of his team (and for that matter, it would likely also result in his personal performances improving, not being distracted and all). But I thought he had a legitimate gripe and thought the taunting penalty was

Do people really disagree with this? Thought it was pretty inappropriate to broadcast his thoughts on social media for him.

I’m black, and I am having a hard time being offended by his statement. Can someone who is white explain this to me?

Lol, are you really saying that police and the courts offer less due process then Title IX school hearings? Did you get that from the same source as your previous claim that the 2-8% statistic stemmed from defamation cases, lol? If you could also list the basis on which you are confident the school ensured the

Lol, “pretending false accusations of rape is not a tool used historically to surpress young black men ...” rather.

So then do you place as much weight on the fact that Jameis Winston was not found responsible by his school and consider him 100% innocent of rape then? And yes, I have noticed pointing out the obvious racial undertones of the case make many Jezebel posters so uncomfortable they will intentionally attempt to pretend

The entirety of your comment implied that it’s a fool’s errand for him and impossible to prove that black male students are targeted in rape cases.

That is an interesting coincidence - I find whenever commenters attempt to casually dismiss the established history of discrimination against African-Americans, for example by pretending false accusations of rape is a tool used historically to surprise young black men or implying college-educated white women are just

Where is this evidence that false accusations, particularly against men of color, are rare? Convictions of women for false accusations do fall within the often quoted 2-8% range but to say that means false accusations in general are rare is like saying that rape is rare because only 0.6% of rapists are convicted.

Are we now assuming that school investigations into sexual assault are both automatically impartial and infallible? I note that when white female students complain that their alleged attackers were not punished by their school, such as in the UVA case, numerous Jezebel posters are quick to argue the investigation was

So now black young men aren’t targeted? Only the police targets them? Cool story, bro.

I like how a number of posters are automatically assuming the plaintiff is a rapist, even though the only confirmed information available is that he is an African-American male. Kind of supports his point really ...

Presumably because setting a precedent like that opens the door to all kinds of potential future hypotheticals, and it’s not clear where to draw the line. Refs didn’t notice 12 men on the field or an illegal formation on the last-second winning play? They didn’t call grounding when it clearly was? A rule about

Just the cartons?

I think this is it. I think this is the last day I’m visiting Deadspin. The quality of this website has deteriorated in recent years, but this has to be rock bottom. Not that I’m a Whitlock fan by any stretch, but the nonsense on this site has gotten out of hand. I mean, disguising Hitler’s writing fulfill some sad

Am I just being contrarian if I say that this seems like a sort of entrapment/gotcha exercise? Why would one immediately suspect they’re reading Hitler’s words when presented in the guise of a young, aspiring sportswriter?
