They both seem nice, and it’s nice when nice people are happy?

Finally! Foxy Holmes lives!
The OG pic, for reference:
Yes! I don’t know why I care about Jamie and Katie so much. But I do. fuck Tom Cruise.
That disco ball is there because of me! My company works with his architect and I was tasked with sourcing and ordering that giant gold disco ball.
Now is not the time for #NotAllChristians.
I like this guy a lot. I feel for him too, he must have expected better of them than this and that is a painful, painful disappointment to endure after leading them for so long in praying to his God. Good on him.
It’s easy for us to fall into the defensive about this stuff because we are feeling horrified about the situation as well.. I don’t think most of the Christians we are talking about (me included) would deny that we have a problem, ARE THE problem in this country. We totally are.
My only issue with this, is that these different sects are totally different institutions. So sure, Methodists from churches that are LBGTQ accepting can and should work within the bureaucracy to change Methodist policy, but Methodists don’t have a way to change Baptist policy. It is like saying a Sunni from Saudi…
What I don’t get is... surely this isn’t the first time he has spoken about injustices in the world. Surely his parishioners know what this man is about. Right? Was this a shock to them? This is UCC ffs, they’re supposed to be the leftiest of the left, welcoming to all, etc. And they’re not comfortable with their…
As an Episcopalian myself, I get it. But please, it’s considered very bad form to respond with a “Not all (men/white people/Christian/etc...)“ to a conversation like this.

Father James Callan is another. He served at our smug, reactionary little parish for awhile, annoyed the Monsignor, moved up to Rochester, NY, and continued preaching social justice and advocacy for women, LGBT, all peoples and all faiths, those struggling with addiction or despair, and ... well, basically upholding…
You’re right. He didn’t leave the church, the church left him.
Rev. Rob Lee is an excellent example of what a good Christian should be.
Amen. I know a handful of truly good, kind, loving, non-bigoted Christians - really, just a handful - and they need to be proselytizing to their own and reminding the lovely folks at Bethany United Church of Christ just how un-Christ-like they really are.
Seems perfectly reasonable in Trump’s America that “good” Christians get mad at at another Christian for actually being a Good Christian.
I’m Rob Lee and I haven’t left the church. Y’all haven’t gotten rid of me yet.
