You’ve made me laugh like three days in a row now (which is 7 months in Trump-time). Thank you for your selfless public service.

“I picture her wandering some French castle in a hooded cloak, talking to spiders.”

I find it hard to trust women who don’t have female friends. I would be miserable without my girlfriends. Female friendships are important for mental health.

Hey @ChloeGMoretz - let’s set up a date. The crush is mutual.

I can see the white in you.

Addendums:

Has anyone ever told you you look just like Beyonce? (or any famous black female)

“Why does everything have to be about race?”

Variations of these get all-capped to me pretty frequently:

1. We shouldn’t be judged by the color of our skin, but the content of our character!

2. MLK would be rolling in his grave right now.

3. Racism doesn’t mean anything when you people say it all the time.

The only non-stereotypical Black Gay Man character on TV I can think of is Carter Heywood from Spin City, and turns out his actor has a wife and kids. Has tv gone down so much, even if we live in a supposed golden age that still has insensitivity toward people?

I had a (white) yoga teacher who kept calling the one black woman in class “girl” (as in, “you go girl”). I wasn’t sure what to do and I did nothing. Maybe I should have at least brought it to the teacher’s attention after class? But I didn’t want to presume to speak for the other woman.

“Hey man” in this context is a white dude trying to sound “down” in a customer service situation, when they called the white lady in front of me “ma’am.” It’s a jarring and weird shift in tone that makes certain white dudes seem awkward around black people.

I was told TODAY during an interview, “You’re clearly very articulate.” Uh, I have an advanced degree in this very field. Why wouldn’t I be articulate?

I grew up (and still live) in Portland and people act surprised that I like Nirvana, it’s fucking ridiculous.

(Please note, I am whiter than white. These are only ones I have heard during my adventures in the wild.)

“I like Eminem, because he raps about more than money and selling drugs.”

I’ve listened to this podcast from the beginning and I enjoy it. I was about to type out a few aspects of it that I wish were different but I realized that wouldn’t be constructive. Instead I will say I am glad they exist for the things I do like about them.

I have like three racist bones in my body. I’m always complaining about them, but the rest of the bones won’t do anything about it. Two of them are real assholes and one of them is passive aggressive as shit. I don’t know, every time I think about yanking them out the other bones get all protective. Deep down, I

Thanks for reading! I’m certainly not saying any type is “better.” We all deserve to be represented, no doubt. I’m calling into question that this type just happens to also be the type who we relegate in real life. And that makes me question would be care about “diversity” if it was flipped. My opinion is no.
