Exactly. This is giving me terrible Eragon flashbacks--another adaptation where the film-version of the heroine inexplicably likes a character she’s really not all that fond of in the books. 

I didn’t cry at that part. I cried when Quentin asked, “Did I die saving my friends or did I kill myself?” because damn that cut close to home.

I’ve been marathoning the Third Doctor recently, and Spyfall definitely felt like a pastiche of that era.
