People always rag on the CGI in DC movies, but let’s be honest here, the MCU has really been giving us some pretty bad CGI sequences lately. I can’t really hate that action sequence at the end of this trailer though. It’s still badass, despite the incredibly cartoony look.

Do, guessing from the trailer, Danvers dies in a plane crash. The Kree then find her and bring her back to life with an infusion of their blood, and give her super powers to fight in the Kree/Skrull war. Which takes her to a Earth where she meets Nick Fury and rediscovers her humanity.

I hope it looks better in the finished product, but Black Panther sure proved Marvel can still fart out some lousy CG.

This is impossible to take seriously. It honestly feels like an insult to actual sexual assault victims like myself.

is everyone watching a different series than me? This whole series has had the dullest stories with the dullest of companions. Doctor Who is supposed to be a fun show but everything just seems to bland now. If you were to remove the TARDIS and change nothing else there would be nothing “Doctor Who” about this show

Sigh. I miss the show from when it was quirky and fun.

I’ve long since learned that if DW introduces an awesome, compelling female character who isn’t a companion or part of the “extended family,” they are almost certainly doomed :-/

Yeah, the moral message of this episode was gibberish.

What gets me is that this didn't bother the doctor at all.

Give me a scene with Romanov and The Cavalry fighting back to back, and I’ll be able to die a happy geek.

“but any time the actors playing parent and child are only five years apart it’s gonna be weird. Real, real weird.”

When does it start being Doctor Who?

I feel like they are trying to prove in some way that a female Doctor can do a tried and true episode of Dr Who just as good as the male Doctors before now. I wish they would stop. This season of Who I have found boring at best. It’s as if it really isn’t going anywhere or anywhere fast. The companion stories seem

You said “aside from Rosa”, I think even THAT episode suffers from everything you described.

Why are they writing for her as if she’s a kindergarten teacher constantly telling all the kiddies that even though she doesn’t know what’s going on, everything will be alright? She can’t be cool and aloof and insensitive (like the previous 4 doctors)? Why are there 3 assistants and really... who voted for Dad as one

Not the least of which was the bizarre propagandizing that letting an animal starve or asphyxiate was somehow better than putting it down humanely.

I feel like we’re all restraining ourselves a bit too much. Holding back our criticism because of our love for Doctor Who and enthusiasm for the new cast. But, when that Cabbage Patch Kid alien showed up, I finally admitted it to myself — series 11 of Doctor Who sucks. The worst of it is, we have all the ingredients

While I’m liking all three companions, I think introducing 3 new companions at once was a mistake. We’re halfway through the season and they really haven’t had the development or screen time of past companions.

While the scripts remain a little janky and hold together a bit more with fridge logic than I’d like, the stories have been solid enough. The actors are doing a fine job.

For what it’s worth, I find interesting to read the online enthusiasm for this batch of episodes, since around me, out of the 20 or so (non-UK, non-US) Who viewers (old school hardcore fans, 2005 nuWho fans, casuals, Moffat fans, Davies fans, Broadchurch/Torchwood fans, harsh critics, people who are pretty easy to
