Blame that on sites like io9 who used to write about science and fiction but now two thirds of their articles are about racial stuff and that you all need to be offended by something.

white people won’t be happy until all media is just grey lumps of clay with their five pre-approved “non-offensive” words.

a phenomena

Yes they teach it in school, its the class right before the class about White guilt and White Privilege. I just do not see or have the same feeling for these first three episodes like I did with the previous 3 doctors. My dislike for the new Who has nothing to do with Race, Gender, or any other trivial human obsessions

Sorry, but this episode didn’t change my mind at all:

Let us not forget this travesty

“All they have to do is say Discovery is not in the Prime universe, NOR the Kelvin one. And all their troubles go away!”

Holy shit, actual jokes, levity, and humanity!

Honestly? Kind of okay with them never ever ever bringing up the “Wanda’s gone crazy again because her identity as a wife and mother has been challenged and these are the only things important to a woman” plotlines that have defined a lot of her character arcs. Like, they can just leave that shit back in the 80s with

I guess it’s the old wood shop geek in me...but for the love of god, why do they have the girl wearing sandals in the shop?
WEAR SOME GODDAMN SHOES! I don’t care if I sound like an asshole telling a woman what to wear, don’t lose a damn toe.

Ugh. I’ve been in metal fab for over 30 years, and those are some of the ugliest welds I have ever seen. I don’t consider myself a good welder (I primarily do CNC bending and design) but I’ve welded plenty over the years and could do better than that with a stick welder.

Pressurized carbon becomes diamonds. I’m curious to see what pearls turn into when they’re clutched so hard.

Shaming people who might want this costume isn’t on theme with the shows authoritarian puritan regimes message at all. Not at all ironic.

Well that’s disappointingly unoriginal.

I didn’t have any other way to contextualize them.

>I’m incredibly proud of the 4 issues we’ve turned in so far. It’s been 2 years of work.

No, the language spoken in TGMBC is a “Bushman”/Khoi-san language called !Kung, consisting almost entirely of clicks, whereas Xhosa has some clicks, and is a completely unrelated language (like Polish and Italian)... Trevor Noah (South African) spoke Xhosa on British TV.

In South Africa there are 18 official languages

Xhosa is like introductory clicking language, because there ‘just’ 3-6 clicking consonants. There are some language with over 40 clicking consonants that would sound like you’ve just landed on different planet.

Meanwhile, the text on Killmonger’s suit reads “Be Sure To Drink Your Ovaltine”

I disagree with your definition of “reboot” — if something maintains continuity with the original, it’s a sequel or continuation, not a reboot. A “reboot” restarts continuity from scratch on a franchise and the story can go in different directions. A “remake” restarts continuity from scratch, but largely follows the
