Wait that’s silly. A car’s primary purpose is transportation, not to plow through things and people. A gun’s primary purpose is to shoot things, and it actually doesn’t have any other purpose.

Why, though? Readily available handguns mean that you can do whatever you want and then evade punishment later by blowing your brains out. If you are an angry piece of shit with nothing to live for, why *wouldn’t* you take a few people with you first. There’s pretty much no incentive not to.
