I'm going to bring a few tabletop games to my brother's multi-day Fourth of July bash. I know a few other enthusiasts will be there and if the adults aren't down to play then I've got a couple nephews that will be. I'm definitely bringing Catan and Smallworld. Maybe Smash Up too. And I should probably include Cards

I got into a bit of an argument with a family member over the logic flaw in the whole "90 days so we can figure it out" argument. It's already been way longer than 90 days so what's stopped them from figuring out what ever it was that they needed to figure out? They responded with "Well, if the ban wasn't in place,

There's something ironic about a news program pointing out that the tweets were probably a distraction yet still devoting a whole segment to them.

Blaming everything on Obama was the go-to GOP strategy for so long that they just can't stop doing it.

How about Tom Arnold showing up late and clearly wasted? Or, at best, the kind of hungover where you're still drunk. I don't know what's going on in his life right now but damn he was looking rough.

I'm not a huge fan of his but he definitely puts in the work. I mean, he really did strap himself to the outside of a flying plane in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

A Batman movie about Zsasz in the style of Se7en would be so good. Way too dark to ever get greenlit though.

I was surprised and impressed by how they showed Bash to be more than just a rich douche caricature.

Kid's seats just FIVE BUCKS!

The whole ensemble is really great. The writers and actors do a great job of making them all more rounded than that might initially seem. And I love Ruth so much. But I have an affinity for theater nerds. It was never my world but I've always surrounded myself with those types for whatever reason.

And you know those cocktails take forever to make. Better just get back in line as soon as you get yours if you don't want a 15 minute break between drinks. I think stuff like this is only popular so that people can post about being there on social media.

Favorite characters?
1) Sam (love his general assholishness)
2) Ruth (love her plucky enthusiasm)
3) Sheila the She Wolf (love her awkward rejection of society)
4) Machu Picchu (love her kindness and vulnerability)

Going to my Marine brother's house in NC for their annual blowout. The whole street is Marines and there's usually illegal fireworks, a bounce house/waterslide, possibly a bonfire, tons of food (including my sister-in-law's famous lumpias), and lots and lots of booze. I usually take over grilling duties at these

I tried my hand at some Thai red curry. It was okay but I went way too heavy on the fish sauce. And by too heavy I mean only three teaspoons in the whole pot. Stunk up the whole house. It tasted fine but man, that stuff is seriously potent.

Last year, my celebration was a meal at Wendy's and then getting drunk while watching TV alone. Sometimes birthdays just kind of suck.

People drive like maniacs. I'd like to think I'm a reasonably safe driver. I maintain a decent following distance and never really go more than like 10 mph over the speed limit. I've never gotten a ticket. I've been in an accident but it wasn't my fault (hit while stopped at a light). But damn if people aren't

That last one gets me. I'm always the person that's early to things. The first one at the party that has to awkwardly make conversation with the host until others arrive. When I first moved to California about a decade ago, I had to train myself to always be at least an hour late because everyone else would be. That's

If I walk into a stall that someone didn't flush, I always go to a different stall. I don't know why. I'm not a germaphobe and I've done my business in some rather unpleasant environments. But that is just something I can't get past.

Reports from my friends back in San Francisco are that it's gotten really bad out there over the past couple years. And it should be noted that the homeless problem was always bad there. This is a town where one of the escalators to a train station had to be shut down because it got gummed up with human feces.

The other day this guy cut me off at full speed while crossing like three lanes of heavy traffic. I swear he was probably like two inches from my front bumper. And I was going about 70 at the time so it would have been a bad wreck. So fuck people that endanger my life and the lives of everyone around them because they
