Imagine you create a thing that is an online thing. It only works online. You design it this way so that a) you can control the content as it’s your creation and b) its how you designed it. Somebody then comes along and steals what you’ve created and let’s people have your thing for free. This thing you made, this

It’s more like you purchased a Ford, figured out how it worked, built your own rip-of parts using fords designs then gave the car to people for free, infringing on fords designs. Sure you’re not profiting off of it, but you’re negatively impacting the owner of the IP - the same say pirating movies affects the film
