So...it might be messy, but no one’s really shocked that a hockey team named for Long Island is engaging in white flight, right?

I can’t believe no one’s done this joke. I’m cheap, but I have my limits, so you can use this concept to make your own joke:
I picked an ingrown hair off my head while I read this.
A camo Realtree decal would also be a nice touch...
It’s also missing crimson-colored TruckNutz, a Confederate flag, and a gun rack.
And to be fair, Pittsburgh is often hateable. Some Yinzers are instantly unbearable, and, for me, many transplants were always hard to take (sorry on many levels...Pittsburgh is not New York, nor was meant to be.) I hate being in Shadyside. Period.
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
See, I’d say it does belong with those cities. I’m 41, and grew up in the area, and understand the recovery is minor compared to the overwhelming loss that occurred. It was a loss not just economic, but cultural.
That is the exact song I was going to post.
Who didn’t vote for Griffey?
Cult member. Stop drinking straight from the Mon.
Learn to read. I have clearly written there is both good and bad in Pittsburgh, but the bad outweighs the good. Go read them.
Exactly. The question is one of micro to macro vis-a-vis the generalized economic model.
The number don’t lie. Stasis is the best Pittsburgh can hope for. If you’re one of those people who believe that Pittsburgh’s suffers an image problem, you’re wrong. Only a small percentage of people move somewhere because of their perception of the place. People move because of the economy.
Actually, I love Pittsburgh. I’d move back this afternoon, if I could.
You’re calling Kaufmann’s Macy’s?
And almost 400,000 since 1950.
Yeah, I understand fractions as well as I understand how you avoided every point I made in my last post. What is 181/515? And what’s a year compared to half a century (1/50)?
So I should change my opinion to match everyone else? Oh, yes. Words of wisdom. That’s how we build consensus, right? I’m a fan of dissensus myself. I’d rather be wrong on my own, than be wrong as part of a fan club.
It’s better, but in the same category of postindustrial Rust Belt cities with significant economic challenges.
