“The destructive fees imposed on restaurants”
“The destructive fees imposed on restaurants”
Exactly. These writers like to leave out the fact that many of these restaurants choose to contract with these services and agree to the terms and fees when doing so. They also like to misrepresent things and mislead readers in general. And when it comes to the ones that don’t but the services offer delivery for…
ETA:
What is left out of a lot of these articles is the fact that the restaurants agree to the terms and fees when they sign up for these services. Since so many have to rely so much on delivery orders now, the fees that they’ve agreed to are suddenly having a much greater impact for them.
Thats your response?
I think you misunderstood the comment.
You might be right were it not for the fact that you are wrong. But please, continue declaring for others what they can and cannot afford or what their circumstances will or won’t allow for - don’t let me get in the way of the disdain for those less fortunate than you that clearly gives you so much pleasure.
Oh, so nobody’s circumstances or health or physical abilities ever change? At all? Ever? Even during a global pandemic when the family members they counted on for various needs can’t even provide those things anymore?
“One of the things that make TikTok so consistently great is that it turns observational humor into a community art installation.”
Not everybody has the means, time, and availability to go pick up their orders. There are people who are housebound and/or have young children / infants / elderly family members who need constant care and monitoring. There are people who don’t have their own car, money to spend on Uber or Lyft, or easy and safe access…
“A pierogi restaurant owner in Columbus, Ohio was forced to shut down completely because Grubhub charged him a fee of 40% per order to be part of its “visibility” program”
Not only did he get the amendment wrong, but First Amendment protections go to NASCAR here - not the attendees.
You can also do this to read NYT articles without a subscription (as well as with some other outlets with paywalls).
As I said - thank you for proving my point (which you’ve done multiple times). And you might want to take the time to find out what words mean before using them, moron.
I make a point to not engage in behavior like name-calling, but you’re a fucking moron.
No, spoken by someone who actually reads the source articles that this writer is completely (and repeatedly) misrepresenting - because that is exactly the case.
“I don’t know that it’s true they’d need to clarify.”
As far as my experience goes, I rarely go to Starbucks - but when I do, they don’t need to clarify because I don’t order sizes that they don’t have on the menu (because I’m not an asshole). However in general, if they want to make sure they are providing the customer the size they expect, then yes they would need to…
So, no photo of the guy with his pizza boxes and no link to your source? That’s some top-notch ‘reporting’!
“most restaurants just arrange the curbside delivery over the phone, gratuity and all.”
