It also doesn’t help that the movie is a classic example of the White Savior trope considering that the both the film and the novel its based on focus on a white woman metaphorically appropriating the Civil Rights movement from black women.

It’s the second cumming of Yeezus.

There’s an aphorism: If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room. Melissa McCarthy is too often the funniest person in the movie.

They missed the opportunity to make this a buddy cop spinoff with puppet Angel and Spike

I’m actually surprised that it got a C-. The trailer was painfully unfunny. In fact, the trailer was so bad that I sort of felt bad for Melissa McCarthy. After this movie bombs, she’s going to have to console herself with her many millions of dollars.

Also, if Happytime Murders had taken a few more cues from that film and focused less on the rote whodunit and more on the funhouse-mirror L.A. where it takes place.

I’m waiting for one of those to start streaming Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, but all they seem to want to stream is H and K go to Guantanamo Bay which is just blah!

I understand your take, as well. It just wasn’t clear to me that there was enough time to try both ideas—especially if shutting down the reactors would have set the laser’s progress back to square one. But the time argument became moot, anyway, when Holden said the laser would only guarantee the solar system’s

Internet backlash took longer than I expected.

The protomolecule is basically engineering equipment created by ancient aliens (and I do mean ancient.) In the books it’s explained better, but they’ve mentioned it a few times in the show too. Basically, billions of years ago aliens shot Phoebe at our solar system. It was aimed at Earth, and was supposed to drop the

But does Nurse Jean have veterinary skills?

Saw the trailer recently and was hoping for a secret John Wick crossover.

But what about the men?
