I read this book to my 5 month old yesterday in honor of Mr dePaola! My husband has a tiny Italian grandmother and the first time I met her I told him “your grandma is Strega Nona and I love her.” I still love her, she is 100 years old and just a peach.

A stranger carried my baby for me. He’s sleeping in my arms now, he’s 5 months old. She was supposed to come see us at Easter and now it most likely won’t happen and we are crushed. The first thing we are doing after we are released from our homes is going to see her, I don’t care what else is going on in our lives.
