I imagine there was no cash incentive - just being that iced out by your family - no matter how toxic had to hurt.

I think that’s probably pretty common. Not only did the parents of both of these men utterly fail them, but enablers often feel like safer/easier targets for victims’ anger than the abusers. That anger is a lot less tied up in the guilt and shame they feel about their abuse. Plus, the dynamic between abused and

Hey Lauren, I just want to chime in along with everyone else and let you know this is a really shitty post. Like, colossally shitty. I don’t even have any snark for you. Clinton won the popular vote, she was profoundly qualified, and she got shat on for being a woman who knows how to get shit done in a world dominated

I agree.

Yikes. This is kind of heartbreaking. Woman wins popular vote, helping pave the way for a number of exciting female leaders, and gets shat on for existing by feminist blog. What would you like her to do, disappear completely? Sounds that way.

This post is actually insane: “her disastrous loss definitely afforded her a few pearls of wisdom.” Tell that to the 65,844,610 people who voted for her (compared to Cheeto’s 62,979,636 votes). She’s the most successful women politician in American history, and I think she deserves a little more respect than this crap.

Yeah what could people possibly learn from someone who has spent almost their entire adult lives in the political sphere? Jesus this post is garbage.

I was inspired by her too. I would vote for her again if I could (but I wouldn’t wish another brutal election cycle on her). I think she would have made an incredible President. I teared up when I voted for her because I was so moved. The snark in this article is really rude and unnecessary. There’s a lot of people

Yeah, someone who wins a party nomination and then gaines over three million more votes than someone yet loses due to dozens of fluky reasons is hardly someone you can call “uninspiring” but you can never kick someone when they’re down enough

I was pretty inspired by her campaign too. But I’m glad she’s sitting this out because I wouldn’t wish all the crap she got (from both the far right and the far left) on my worst enemy.

What a shitty snarky piece! I am still heartbroken over her loss. You go Hillary!

I was inspired by her campaign as were many she won the goddamn popular vote. She shouldn't run again because it will just be a repeat and she has sense. No need to shit on her work.

Bernie isn’t Trump. But what he shares with Trump is his willingness to give vague grandiose promises without articulating an in depth understanding or complexity of the issues. And some of his supporters, like Trump supporters, can be horribly nasty, particularly on social media and have a cult like adulation of him.

The rules that governed everyone somehow should have changed because (hearts, flowers, ponies) Bernie decided he wanted to be President and Hillary is a girl. Duh.

Members of the Democratic party gave Hillary some support because she’s a Democrat who has supported the party for over fifty years. If Sanders wants the support of DNC members or other party members, he should work on supporting the party. Oh, I forgot, he’s only a member when it serves his political interests.

Yeah I mean the same apparatus that was good enough for Barack was all of a sudden not good enough for Bernie. Fuck him and fuck all his whining Bros. When the writing was on the wall and it was obvious Barack was going to be the nominee, Hillary & Bill went to work getting him elected. What did this cranky old fuck

Literally none of that is true.

he would never, could never beat trump. I will give him credit in that he’s sold a large swath of people (young white liberals, mostly) that he has some secret ability to talk to the working class. But once you puncture the shiny veneer of this premise, it’s all downhill from there.

“Some of us, not me, pinched our noses and voted for Hilldawg.”

In 2016, Bernie was really the only game in town, regarding his brand of politics. For 2020, it’s clear that there will be other options that are potentially less annoying, less problematic, and lack his baggage. So why stick with him?
