I’m not sure she ever received alimony. But, even if she did, Charlie Sheen is broke so she’s not getting alimony. He isn’t even paying his child support. And several real housewives are single or got divorced over the course of the show. Although it’s more common on some versions of the show than others.

Trump winning the election has opened the door for any idiot with money to run. Who needs political experience to be the president, right? These people would probably not hire a dog walker without 10 years of experience and a degree in animal behaviour, but now everyone with an over blown ego think they can be

Calling the referee sensitive is getting the whole thing backwards. It was Williams who completely overreacted.

Yeah, I’m not sure that applies though. That was in the 70s, the 80s, and things have changed a lot since then, about what’s acceptable behaviour, and the rules of tennis.  Also, I saw John McEnroe once refuse to stop his harangue and accumulating penalties until he essentially forfeited a match.  So in the context of

Agreed. I think Serena is a remarkable athlete and the undeniable GOAT in tennis. But god... she can on occasion be an embarrassingly poor sport. It was quite noticeable that her issues with the ump wasn’t a thing until it became clear she was losing. Her invoking motherhood in order to win an argument was eyebrow

Hot take: The official was justified in what he did.

Throws the match? Are you serious? Osaka dominated Williams from start to finish today. I bet a million dollars you didn't watch the match.

That’s just how the rules work. They can’t penalize the coach. They could tell him to leave the venue, I suppose, but the rules say the player gets a warning. The coach should be better at hiding it.

“But officer, everyone else speeds, and I’ve been speeding my whole life. Why do I get a ticket?”

You’re probably right. But it wasn’t a first violation. It was a third violation. I may be wrong, but I believe in almost any sport, the officials have a shorter fuse about a second or third violation than they do about the first. I don’t mean to minimize the hurdles Serena faces, but that first violation wasn’t

I mostly agree, but the reason the media asked Serena about her daughter is because Serena very specifically said “I HAVE A DAUGHTER” while yelling at the ump. She brought her daughter into it before anybody else. I think it’s entirely likely that if Tom Brady had yelled “I KISS MY SON ON THE MOUTH” after dropping

A code violation is a code violation in tennis. Her warning (1st violation) was the coaching call (admittedly not her fault but she takes the punishment regardless). Her third code violation is a game penalty.

That sort of frustration isn’t unusual for top-level athletes, and yeah...there’s something of a pattern there. When she was penalized for threatening a line official, she was a couple points away from being upset by Kim Clijsters. Her 2011 blow-up came while she was losing to Sam Stosur. She’s a fantastic player, but

This is a bullshit statement:

I may not have hit the nail on the head with my word choice here, I’ll admit, but I don’t think the article is balanced, it’s a puff job of Serena.  She lost 6-2, 6-4, and this controversy happened in the second set.  Wouldn’t it be more fair to say that Serena wasn’t feeling it today, wasn’t having her best match,

I swear, Serena could kill a baby and Deadspin would somehow make Serena be the victim. It was obvious that it wasn’t a thumbs up, more like an “Move forward more” gesture (Which the coach admitted). All she had to do was continue playing, but no, she had to play the victim and resurrect 2009 all over again and make a

“That said the coach also made the point that she should be allowed to show emotion and smashing a racket shouldn’t be a big deal. This is a larger question about how a black woman’s body is regulated on a public stage.

Not out of line. Serena’s coach admitted to Pam Shriver that he was trying to coach Serena. Everyone, including Serena, knows how penalties are given out. Maybe it’s her coach’s fault for trying to signal to her, but she was responsible for her own behavior after that.

Naomi Osaka - never meet your heroes.

Naomi outplayed Serena. This has ruined the win for her. The crowd sucked.
