Fez is an absolutely incredible game, one that will stick with you for years, and Phil Fish was a massive turd for canceling the sequel over a Twitter fight.

Geek Critique did a really good synopsis of the old Sonic games. Basically the joy is not in completing the level, but in speed running and mastering it. The games are meant to be played through multiple times.

Maybe a spinoff where Chief Wiggum and Skinner become private investigators in New Orleans?

For what it’s worth, this is pretty much the entire series in a nutshell, besides some really obscure games that nobody ever cared about. And the games that didn’t hold up that well are replaced by cinematics. It’s actually a pretty good deal.

Tell those acquaintances that Lil Nas X played them like a fiddle for free advertising.

Grinding and spending money really aren’t necessary if you just want to play the main story and explore the world. It’s only necessary if you want all the 5-star banner characters or to complete the brutal optional dungeon.

You either die a Metroidvania developer, or you live long enough to become an action-RPG-with-random-dungeons developer.

The game is actually pretty great. Not as good as BOTW but a fantastic mobile game. And you don’t ever have to spend any money.

Unlocking every 5 star character without spending cash would be an unbelievable grind. But the game isn’t that hard, you can enjoy all of it without spending a dime unless you want to get the world record on the super-hard optional dungeon.

I never played the demo, but apparently the game is getting a day one patch to fix some of its issues. We’ll see how the reviews look.

I am completely down with Balan Wonderworld. The world needs more brightly colored 3D platformers.
