If I were going to cheat at Pokemon, I would buy a second Switch, jailbreak it, use PokeGen to create level 100 Pokemon with 6 IVs, and trade them onto the legitimate Switch. That would be much more expensive than this dongle, but a heck of a lot faster than breeding and you get a nice emulation machine too.

I agree. I was originally disappointed when I saw it was turn based only, but the battles they showed in the demo wouldn’t work in real time. Hopefully all of the fights are meaningful and engaging, BG 1 and 2 had a ton of filler that was tolerable because they only lasted 10 seconds.
