IIRC John Carter was married to Angelica Skyler from Hamilton. And he dueled Burr first and didn't die.

Eh, some guests groped some employees and got kicked out. I doubt Disney likes it much, but I don't see why they they would be too worried. I'm not sure that they would bother to bury it if they could. Them getting caught trying to bury it would be a much bigger story I think.
I bought a sterling silver tube, and it works well for me.
They don’t have to, but it’s polite to get it. And if the subject wants to cooperate it can be a big help.
In addition to the fact that saying you will hire anyone sounds great, but I get the feeling most of the people saying it haven’t personally tried to get useful labor out of a bipolar drug addict. Or a repeat sex offender. Or that chick who wrote “The Devil Wears Prada”. Some people are hard to employ. I imagine they…
I bet it was a private wine cave. Well, or owned by some sort of non-profit dedicated to the better decoration of cocktail parties for rich people so it doesn’t get taxed lol
Ya, I agree. Government jobs for everyone sounds good until you get assigned to chop wood in North Dakota, or live in a tent in the desert building a big wall. And I like the Hoover Dam.
12 k isn’t that small. If an extra 12k a year wouldn’t make much difference to you you are rich. What’s world gdp per capital, 3k? And US median worker income is like 30k. And if kids get it too that helps single parents that much more. Find an actual single mother of two and ask if an extra 36k a year would help.…
It is arguably fourth or fifth, but one through four look a lot uglier without giving people adversely affected by them something to balance the scales. And a UBI is a simple and I think efficient way to do that.
Eh, UBI and a carbon tax aren’t shallow “disruptive” ideas. And what’s this ideological historical stuff that has the real answers? Biden? Does he look like a man with a plan to you? I like Bernie and Warren, but I don’t think their plans are smarter and more realistic than Yang’s. I mean seriously, are you holding…
I don't know, honestly. Sanders is a much better politician than they are and has a long and consistent track record. He has a tough hill to climb to win the primary, but who else will? Maybe Biden will keep channeling his Trumpian shield of Malarkey, and maybe Warren will pull through and win it, but as I see it…
Eh, Bernie hasn't lost yet. Betting markets have Biden in first at 30% and Sanders in second place at 20%. Those aren't great odds, but they aren't throw in the towel it's over odds.
Ya, we were just talking about an old dude who still used real candles on the tree in the house, and how crazy/brave it was
How the hell do defense attorneys come before victims compensation? What do those negotiations look like? “Now is when I, as your friend and lawyer, have to ask, how much money you would like to give me, and how much you want to give to your enemies....". His enablers are lucky they aren't getting whacked too! Or it…
Uber knows who was in what car when.
Who to my understanding have been paid 1.5 billion to administer 25 million in debt relief for students. One percent of 1.5 billion is 15 million, so it costs the government about $50 to give an endebted student $1 in relief. Of course academia gets its shot at that dollar before the student sees even that much value.
I think because while they are privately owned the government guarantees the loans. Like if I had a bar and my Dad guaranteed my lending, so I could lend money to my friends at the bar, they give the money right back to me, then if they didn’t pay me back I could get the money from him, then still chase my customers…
Although to be fair, our economy grew much faster and was much more equal under the old banks could fail and you get nothing system than the current managed service economy we have now. If we kept the old system U.S. median income would be what twice, eight times what it is now? It’s hard to calculate the opportunity…
But if they weren't getting donations people would have to pay tax on the money! Didn't someone calculate the tax opportunity cost at like 250k a kid a year?
Although politicians can spend money like rock stars, 15 million sounds like a lot of money until you have a lifestyle that involves traveling teams of experts. It's still a good chunk of change, but as Chris Rock? said about cocaine, there is no pile of money so big you and your cronies can't snort it.
