I had a lifted truck tailgating me on the weekend when I was out in my Miata, so I’m all for a blanket ban on lifted vehicles. 

Why ban just “Carolina Squat” trucks instead of addressing all lifted trucks in general?

Agreed with the Carolina Squat, and it’s illegal in NC too, BUT, it still has to be enforced. There are not as many on the road as there used to be where I am, but I’ve seen police/highway patrol not bat an eye as a squatted truck drove by.

Hiring more drivers was probably the first thing the consultants recommended. The second thing should have been telling them not to waste money on consultants for a problem that has a pretty obvious solution. 

One of the Carolinas just outlawed it.

Any limit or restriction without any form of enforcement isn’t a limit or restriction at all. You might as well ditch the rule if you’re not going to enforce it anyway.
