People keep saying its pulp but shouldn't pulp be a lot more fun than this. Its hard to see the pulp through the self seriousness.

exactly although Inherent Vice is so much worse.

I love Punch Drunk Love. Its such a vibrant film. And even though you found out little about her character since its completely from Barry's POV Emily Watson shines in it.

Also can we stop with the "you don't like it because its not like season 1" defenders. That has nothing to do with anything. Its been 5 episodes and the characters and mystery are a non starter.

The core mystery is still boring and its killing the show. It just makes me not care about anything spring from it. Also the character are not that interesting.

it doesn't have shades of LA Confidential it desperately wants to be that an frankly sucks at it. It does not compare well to any of the books in the LA Quartet.

Whitewashing was the least of the films many problems.

Punch Drunk Love is great in every way. Vice is cheap looking, unfunny, and dull.

Josh really doesn't think that Inherent Vice The master are iffy films at best and in the case of Vice terrible?

I have a few friends who have worked for Marvel editorial wise and while they are very pro Marvel its also clear that a lot of the negative has been kept out of the press. People have no idea how bad it got on Thor Dark World

I still like The Suburbs the best even over Funeral. I can't stand Refelktor.

I still find The Suburbs to be their best album.

of course its a classic for a reason.

I was with you until you said the Stars prequels. No those are terrible movies. I know people these days like to pretend they're OK but scripts were trash and Hayden Christensen was awful. But then again all the actors felt as if they were given the most wooden performances imaginable.

He doesn't almost make it work he makes it work. Hounsou is great in this as well as everyone else in it.

Station eleven is the best book I've read so far this year. Wonderful in every way.

Considering the flop Vice was for WB I'm shocked they are allowing him near this or anything

Are you really including the Grifters? How is that violent nihilistic movie bloodless to you.

I just so don't care about this murder mystery at all. All the inner city politics is not grabbing me.

The Big nowhere will always best his best novel.
