Its too bad that they stalled after this album. At least The National picked up what they did and continued to expand and improve with equally fascinating and obscure lyrics.

True although strangely the novel is a masterpiece and the film is insufferable. Despite being faithful the movie seems to totally miss the books pathos since it couldn't replicate all the interior monologues.

To be fair it seems like The Master is quickly being forgotten or shrugged off by pundits. That may be a larger hurdle to his Oscar chances.
